Our regional CCO is moving on to the next role in Svitzer and we are looking for a new Chief Commercial Officer for the Svitzer Americas Region.
The CCO is responsible for the creation and execution of the commercial strategy for the region together with the commercial teams in the region and globally.
Svitzer is on an exciting journey to becoming a zero-emission marine services provider, where the CCO and the commercial team plays a huge role in creating awareness and demand with our current and future customers and build the necessary partnerships to support that journey.

This role is based in Panama City in the Svitzer Americas regional office. You will become part of the Regional Management Team as well as the Global Commercial Leadership Team. Your focus will be on the Americas market but working across the other regions for KCM and the global commercial agenda.

You will report directly to the Regional Managing Director and with a dotted line to the Global Chief Commercial Officer.
Key responsibilities
As our new CCO for Americas, you will play a leading role in developing the customer-centric agenda and organization in the region. Your key responsibilities include:
- Demonstrates superior customer orientation – deeply listens and can uncover a clearer understanding of the customer requirements/ needs, can connect, and establish deep professional relationships, and can convert and articulate those needs into value propositions for Svitzer
- Ownership of translating our global strategy into Americas specific growth avenues building on our differentiators
- Passionate about sourcing and developing growth opportunities and able, together with their team, to convert the overall growth and portfolio strategy into specific opportunities, with customers and stakeholders.
- Ownership of the end-to-end opportunity development process from financial modelling oversight, tender and business case management, customer engagement, internal stakeholder alignment and team focus on objective alignment.
- Identify innovative solutions through decarbonization and digitization.
- Embeds new product capabilities to faster uncover opportunities and initiate customer conversation in alignment with Global Product Owners
- Prioritization of customer and new business based on business potential, resource allocation and alignment to commercial strategy.

We expect that you have the following experience and competencies:
- Demonstrated experience and passion with extensive customer engagement at all levels – board, executive management, management, and frontline. You feel at ease navigating in a multicultural environment, and deal with people in a broad range of professional levels and backgrounds.
- 10 - 15 years’ commercial and business development experience, preferably within the maritime/ marine services industry
- In-depth knowledge and experience with end-to-end opportunity development, including capture planning, tender management, investment approvals, and negotiations.
- Proven track record of achieving long-term organic growth and improving customer loyalty.
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing thriving teams
- Strong financial acumen and understand the mechanics of pricing/costing/competitive offers.
- A clear communicator - excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the capability to deal with people at a broad range of levels. Working knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix structure.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business stream is required with a master’s degree desired.
Ability to travel when required, mainly within the Americas.
