**JOB SUMMARY**
Assists operating surgeons in carrying out technical surgical procedures in accordance with applicable safety laws and regulations. Assists operating surgeons with intra-operative procedures like homeostasis, exposure, closure, etc. Develops specialized preoperative plans in coordination with appropriate surgeons and health team members. Prepares surgical tools and equipment and takes preventative measures to ensure applicable health and safety regulations are satisfied. Administers preoperative medications and reports the responses of patients to assigned surgeons and anesthesiologists.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Requires current licensure as a Registered Nurse in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position. Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being treated. Must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred. Minimum of two years' experience in the operating room preferred. CRNFA certification preferred after meeting eligibility requirements for exam.
