Providence is calling a Pharmacist to the Pharmacy at Providence Valdez Medical Center in Valdez, AK.
The staff pharmacist develops, coordinates, and maintains clinical and distributive Pharmaceutical Care services in collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, primary caregivers and patient/family. May assist in direct patient care and collaborates with other team! members to plan and provide important aspects of care. Pharmacist helps to ensure that patient care is delivered in a manner that optimizes outcome and minimizes cost. Responsible for any delegated act performed by pharmacy technicians.
In this position, you will:
Develop and maintain policy and procedures for the Pharmacy to be in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
Plan, assess, implement, evaluate, and document all aspects of pharmaceutical care.
Monitor stock and inventory of all pharmaceutical supplies in the pharmacy and the nurseâs station narcotics cabinet and Emergency Room.
Maintain the formulary.
Orient new staff to the pharmacy and provide continuing education in providing pharmacy services to ensure competency of staff.
Provide medications according to current policy for the Valdez Emergency Medical Technicians.
Provide written feedback regarding Quality Improvement I! ssues and ensures compliance with the Quality Management revie! ws.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Must have graduated from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a B.S. or B. Pharm. Degree.
Current Alaska Pharmacist License.
BLS or the ability to attain certification within 90 days of date of hire required.
Must have basic pharmaceutical knowledge and clinical skills, and be familiar with the basic functions of a hospital pharmacy.
Six months experience in an applicable setting.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Advanced degree (Pharm.D. or M.S.) preferred.
