The Surgical Tech is a valuable member of the surgical team providing assistance to surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses. The surgical team works to ensure that the patients’ operative procedure goes smoothly and quickly, and that the patient has a safe and positive surgical experience. The Surgical Tech provides expertise in the handling of instruments, supplies and equipment during the intra-operative period. The advanced Tech uses th! eir experience to provide expertise in a specialized field of ! surgery.
Full time, 40 hours per week - Shift is for Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., some rotating nights, weekends and evening shifts. Call shifts required.
Must be within 30 minutes of Intermountain Medical Center for call.
Starting salary: $15.61 per hour
Minimum Requirements
This position requires verifiable current Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification. An original card must be verified prior to start date or the job offer will be withdrawn. For additional information regarding CPR requirements please visit our Job Requirements Page .
Two or more years Surgical Technologist experience
Completion of four items from the following list:
National Surgical Technologist Certification
Competency in a specialty area (each specialty area counts as one item)
Completion of a special project annually
Physical Requirements
Carrying! , Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pushing/Pulling, Seeing, Speaking, Standing, Walking
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a formal operating room technology training program
National Certification as Surgical Technologist
Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy
Ability to ensure the proper care, maintenance, and coordination of surgical instruments and supplies specific to retinal surgery Demonstrated effective communication skills
Previous rotation within Intermountain Healthcare
Two years of cardiovascular surgery experience.
