The CRNA is an Advanced Practice RN who works in collaboration with the Anesthesiologist and independently to provide anesthesia services. Reports to Anesthesia Services Manager Education, Experience and Skills Requirements Must have completed a program of study designed to prepare an RN for advanced practice and which meets Board of Nursing standards for practice as an APRN and the Council on Accreditation for nurse anesthesia programs. A master's degree in nursing is required if practicing in ND and if initially licensed after Aug 1, 1995, otherwise preferred. Must have extensive advanced knowledge of nurse anesthesia. Must have clinical privileges approved through respective health care facilities. Licensure/Certification Requirement Requires current licensure to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in state of practice. Certification from the Council of Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists is required. Job Specific Competencies!
