Provides and performs patient care services associated with the overall operation of Surgical Services in accordance w! ith the mission and philosophy of St. Alexius Medical Center.
Education: High School student, graduate or equivalent.
Licensure: Must be registered on the North Dakota Board of Nursing Unlicensed Assistive Persons (UAP) Registry or the Registry operated by the State Department of Consolidated Laboratories. If not registered, then must obtain registration immediately following orientation and training by St. Alexius Medical Center as stated in the policy âEligibility for Employment as Nurse Assistant.â
Experience: Prefer six months of healthcare related experience.
Skills: Ability to organize assignments and work under pressure. Basic Life Support Certification within 480 hours of employment and meets re-certification as required.
Interpersonal Skills: Good communication skills are necessary because of constant communication, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, and medical center staff.
Physical Effort: Medium; sometimes involves a maximum ! physical effort of 35 pounds.
Hours of Work: Typical hours are an 8 hour workday between 06:00 and 1500. Rotating holidays and weekends may be required. May require occasional evening coverage.
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Other: Works under the following conditions: potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical and infectious environmental hazards.
Able to perform effectively in emergency and stressful situations.
