About the Job:
The Carrier Analytics Manager, will develop and implement an Odyssey carrier performance program to ensure carrier compliance to best-in-class industry standards and to meet the performance, visibility, and sustainability needs of Odyssey’s various clients across all modes of transportation. It is expected the Carrier Analytics Manager will proactively review and analyze carrier performance, visibility, and sustainability data to identify performance exceptions. The Carrier Analytics Manager will ensure a cadence of performance reviews with carriers together with appropriate internal performance stewards that is commensurate with the spend and performance of each carrier. The Carrier Analytics Manager will lead the development of carrier disciplinary policy to enforce performance compliance to Odyssey standards and client needs.
In This Role, You Will:
- Understand key contributors to performance, visibility, and sustainability success across over-the-road modes.
- Receive or extract raw data from various sources, normalize the data into consistent formats, and then perform value added analysis and reporting functions; ideally in a scalable way through Odyssey’s business intelligence platform.
- Work collaboratively with Logistics Operations, Project Management, and Procurement Managers implementing service, visibility, and sustainability strategies.
- Responsible for analyzing and bringing together resources to implement logistics opportunities that enhance service.
- Identify, screen, and onboard new carriers.
- Responsible for carrier performance to include, but is not limited to safety, carrier load acceptance, on-time service, shipment status messaging, and sustainability using data and metrics.
- Maintain a good working relationship with management at Odyssey’s strategic carriers.
- Responsible for developing and implementing a cadence of operations review meetings with strategic carriers to include appropriate internal stakeholders.
- Responsible for ensuring availability of reporting for Logistics Operations and Odyssey clients.
- Responsible for collecting client service concerns via Logistics Operations and Client Services Managers.
- Ability to travel

Required:
- BS or a BA degree is required, plus 5 years of transportation and or logistics experience.
- 3 years of expereicne anaylzing and reporting carrier performance driven data
- Industry experience and basic competency in transportation and logistics management.
- Can adapt to various new responsibilities efficiently.
- Able to prioritize and coordinate multiple critical projects simultaneously.
- Continuous improvement experience; lean-six sigma green/black belt preferred.
- Excellent data analysis skills using desktop computer tools and software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Team player.
- Computer Skills: Excellent data analysis skills using desktop computer tools and software, including advanced proficiency in MS Access and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of logistics data, such as bill of lading information, rate tables, mileage standards, commodity classes, and LTL tariffs is desired.
- Experience utilizing Qlik or other BI tools to provide detailed insight into improvement opportunities.
- Strong background in Mathematics and Statistics to include use of software tools such as R, Python, SPSS, etc.
- Works effectively with client, carrier and Odyssey personnel at all organizational levels.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Above average to strong communication skills (verbal and written)
This is an in-office role based in Charlotte, NC.
Approximately 25% travel is anticipated.
